We pick the fabric based on the season. Light fabric works well in summer. Thicker fabric feels better in cooler months. This choice helps the kandura feel right all year round.
If you order a custom piece, our cutter master cuts every panel to your own measurements. Custom kandura is made to fit you perfectly.
SPI stands for stitches per inch. It tells you how many stitches sit in one inch of fabric. Our team stitches every seam at 16 SPI. This is a higher stitch count than normal sewing. It gives the kandura a neat and strong finish.
We stitch with polyester thread. This thread holds up well over time. It does not loosen even after six months of regular wear.
After stitching, the kandura goes to Nazafah Labs for a deep clean. This step removes dust and loose threads from the fabric.
Our ironing team presses each kandura by hand. Your kandura goes 4 to 5 ironing phases before final ironing.
Saad Ullah, our QA head, checks every kandura. He looks at the cutting, the stitching, and the finishing. Only approved pieces move to the next step.
Once a piece is approved, our packing team packs it for delivery. This is the last step before it reaches you.
We use Clock Tower and Shabab Royal fabric for summers. For winters we use OMC, Montgomery, Semeramis, or Indian legend wool fabric for our luxury kandura collection. We tested these fabrics ourselves before choosing them.
GSM stands for grams per square meter. It shows how heavy or light a fabric is. These fabrics have a plain weave and weigh only 140 to 180 GSM. The fabrics are not too heavy nor too light. Our winter fabrics are made of lightweight wool which does not feel heavy but still gives warmth to the body.
These fabrics are selected because they do not get wrinkles, provide smooth drape, and strong color fastness. Color fastness means how strong does fabric hold color after washes.
Every part of this design is simple and clean. Nothing is loud or looks over.
The kandura has a round neckline without a collar. This is the classic Emirati style. A tarboosh is the tassel that hangs from the front of an Emirati kandura. This piece has a twisted rope style tarboosh with a knot and a soft tassel at the end. It sits at the center of the chest, right below the neckline opening.
We stitch fine angled lines from the tarboosh across the chest. This stitch pattern gives shape to the front panel. We skip extra decorations as it looks odd on an authentic Emirati kandura. The sleeves are relaxed and cuffs are closed, without any buttons.
Vertical seams run down each side of the kandura. They also hide the side pocket opening. The kandura falls straight down to the ankle, with a small flare at the hem. Side slits at the base of the hem make it easier to walk and sit. We cut the hem flat and even all the way around, so you can get a sharp edge whether you are standing or walking.
We deliver within the UAE in 24 to 72 hours. If you need it sooner, ultra-fast delivery is available for an extra cost. You can read our delivery and shipping policy for full details.
We also deliver worldwide. This includes the USA, the UK, Australia, France, Germany, Canada, and other countries. International orders usually arrive in 7 to 11 days.
