Tailored Kandoras for Emirati Gen-Z & Gen Alpha

There is something quietly special about the first time your child wears a kandora. The fabric falls just right, the collar sits perfectly, and for a moment, your little one looks every bit the young Emirati gentleman he will grow up to be.

At Shabab Al Yola, we have been making that moment possible for parents across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, the UAE, and the world since 2009. Over 10,000 families have trusted us with their children's traditional wear, and today we bring that same care to our full kids' kandora collection. Every piece is made to order, in the fabric, colour, and size that works for your child, from the tiniest newborn kandora to a well-fitted kandora for a 12-year-old.

Shop by Age - Find the Right Fit for Your Child

Every child grows fast. Use the age guide below to jump straight to the section that fits your little one right now.

Newborn Kandora (0 to 3 Months)

A newborn kandora is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give a family welcoming a new baby. Our newborn pieces are cut extra small, stitched with gentle seams, and made from our softest fabrics, so nothing irritates delicate skin. We make each one on order, which means the size, fabric, and colour are chosen entirely by you.

Baby Boy Kandora (3 to 12 Months)

Babies at this age are curious, wriggly, and absolutely adorable in traditional dress. Our baby boy kandora range sits loose enough for full movement and breathable enough for the UAE's heat. Whether you need it for an Eid morning, a naming ceremony, or simply because you want your baby dressed in heritage style, we will make it exactly as you picture it.

Toddler Kandora (1 to 3 Years)

Toddlers do not sit still, and their kandora should not slow them down. Our toddler kandora pieces are cut with a slightly wider body and shorter arms to keep up with active little ones. Choose soft cotton for everyday play or Japanese cotton for a cleaner look on special days.

Young Kids Kandora (4 to 6 Years)

At this age, children start noticing what they wear. Our young kids' kandora comes in over 250 colours, so your child can have a say in picking their own. The quality of fabric and stitching stays the same as our adult range because young children deserve the same quality as their fathers wear.

Kids Kandora (7 to 12 Years)

Older kids grow quickly, and a good-fitting kandora matters more as they get taller. We take full measurements for this age group and build each kandora around your child's actual dimensions, not a generic size chart. The result is a clean, polished look that fits well and holds up through regular wear.

Why Parents Come to Us for Their Child's First Kandora

Choosing traditional clothing for your child is a personal decision. You want it done right. Here is what sets Shabab Al Yola apart from any ready-to-wear option online.

17+ Years of Best Tailoring in Abu Dhabi

Javed Akhter founded Shabab Al Yola in 2009 with one goal, and that is to keep the standard of traditional Emirati tailoring exactly where it belongs, at the highest level. Since then, our team has served over 10,000+ clients across the UAE and internationally, and every piece still goes through the same careful hands before it leaves our brand on 11th Street, Al Nahyan.

Fully Custom at No Extra Cost

Pick any fabric, any colour from our collection of over 250 options, or bring your own colour reference and we will match it. Tell us your child's measurements, and we will build the kandora around them. There are no premium charges for custom requests.

Premium Fabrics Chosen for Children's Skin

Children's skin is sensitive, and the UAE weather is warm. Our fabric selection for kids, which includes Japanese cotton, soft cotton, soft silk, and Semeramis, is chosen specifically because these materials breathe well, feel light, and hold their shape through regular wear and washing.

Master Tailors with Decades of Experience

Every kids' kandora is cut and stitched by our in-house tailoring team, led by Master Tailor Imtiaz Ahmed, who brings over 20 years of hands-on experience to every garment. Our quality control team reviews each piece before it gets packed and sent to you.

Which Fabric Works Best for Your Child?

Think of fabric choice like picking the right material for a school bag. You want something that feels good, lasts well, and suits what your child actually does in it. Here is how we think about fabric for each age group.

Newborns and babies (0 to 12 months): Soft cotton or Japanese cotton. Both are featherlight, smooth against skin, and breathable in warm weather. These are the safest choices for a child who cannot tell you if something is uncomfortable.

Toddlers (1 to 3 years): Soft cotton or Semeramis. These fabrics hold their shape through heavy use, wash well, and do not crinkle easily, which matters when your toddler spends half the day on the floor.

Special Occasions: Soft silk or Japanese cotton. Both give a refined finish with a clean drape that photographs beautifully and keeps the kandora sharp for the whole event.

Everyday wear (4 to 12 years): Cotton or soft cotton. Practical, easy to press, and comfortable for long hours of wear.

We Make Custom Kandora for Every Important Day

Each stage of a child's early life comes with moments worth marking. Here are the occasions our customers most often order for.

Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha

Eid is the single busiest time of year for kids' kandora orders. A matching set of father and son kandoras for the morning prayer and family gathering is one of those images that stays with a family for years.

UAE National Day

Many families order white or UAE-themed kandoras for National Day celebrations at school and at home. We can match any colour combination you need, including the red, green, white, and black of the UAE flag.

Aqeeqah and Naming Ceremonies

A newborn kandora ordered as a gift for an Aqeeqah is one of our most requested items. It arrives as a complete, meaningful present for the new family.

Family Photoshoots

A coordinated family look, with father and children in matching or complementary kandoras, makes for photoshoot images that parents keep for decades. We can build a full matching set across all ages.

Weddings and Formal Events

For weddings and formal occasions, we recommend our Japanese cotton or soft silk options with a finished collar detail. Your child will look polished from the first handshake to the last photograph.

Everyday Wear and School Occasions

A well-made cotton kandora worn to school or during everyday outings is something many Emirati families make part of their regular routine. Practical, comfortable, and always appropriate.
